Reg3B was detected in perfusion fixed frozen sections of rat pancreas using Mouse Anti-Rat Reg3B Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB1996) at 25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained using the Anti-Mouse HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit (brown; Catalog # CTS002) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Background

Reg3B, also named Pancreatitis-Associated Protein (PAP) and peptide 23, belongs to the Regenerating gene family (Reg), within the superfamily of C-type lectins. It has been classified as a member of the type III subclass of the Reg family. Reg3B has anti-apoptotic effects on pancreatic acinar cells and is a novel motor and sensory neuron survival factor.
