 Part-Time Customer Service Specialist (Littleton, CO)

Reports To:  Director of Customer and Technical Service

Role Summary:  Looking for a team member who will perform daily customer service activities for all saleable product types which include email, online, and phone correspondence. The position will be best suited for someone who enjoys customer service. This position is part-time, offering up to 20hrs per week, afternoon availability is preferable.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Handles order entry via email, fax, online. Support full time order entry staff based on order load
  2. Liaises with other customer support members in US, as well as other departments to insure timely delivery of products
  3. Additional projects will likely be assigned as applicable. This will require someone who is flexible, eager to learn and willing to take on greater responsibility.
  4. Must be willing to work afternoons, 12-4pm or 1-5pm Monday – Friday.

Essential Skills and Experience

  1. Required high school diploma.
  2. Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
  3. Ability to manage time well.
  4. Customer service experience is a plus.
  5. Must be able to use a computer.

 Strategic Relationship Management Associate

This position is designed for individuals with basic lab experience, looking to move in to the business side of industry. The job does not involve any lab work, but experience with proteomics and immunology based tools will help the individual understand and work with the Novus product line in an efficient manner. Individuals with no lab experience but degrees in molecular biology or biochemistry will be considered.

Role Summary: Performs data analysis and works intensively with product data to add, update and remove products from the general product catalog.  Identifies and helps to develop strategic relationships with content and technological partners. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the proteomics field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Principal Accountabilities: (essential job functions)

  1. Adds and manages new product and product-line additions to the website catalog and to accounting.
  2. Adds and manages existing product updates, including product references, to the website catalog.
  3. Assists with general business activities including providing customer technical support.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  1. Bachelors or Associate degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or related field. Those with Masters and PhDs will not be considered.
  2. Familiarity with the use of antibodies in a research setting and one or more of the following techniques:
    1. Western Blot
    2. Immunohistochemistry
    3. Immunocytochemistry
    4. Flow Cytometry
    5. Sandwich ELISA
  3. Strong customer service orientation – both external and internal.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
  5. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  6. Organizational and time-management skills.
  7. Ability to self-motivate and direct.
  8. Creative and flexible work style.
  9. Mid-level computing skills, including typing, datasheet manipulation and internet use.

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  1. Previous lab experience and familiarity with common proteomic procedures.
  2. Research oriented personality.

Physical Challenges:

  1. Ability to use a computer, keyboard and mouse on a daily basis.
  2. Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
