Western Blot: IL-17/IL-17A Antibody [Biotin] [NBP1-42746] - Analysis of a band 17 kDa in size corresponding to recombinant human IL17-A (lane 1). Molecular weight markers are also shown (M). After transfer, the membrane ...read more
This purified antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with full length recombinant rat IL17-A protein.
In ELISA and other immunoreactive assays, this antibody will recognize both native and recombinant rat IL17-A in cell supernatants and certain body fluids. A control of similarly diluted normal rabbit IgG is recommended.

IL17-A (also known as Interleukin-17, Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 8 and CTLA-8 in rodents) is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated T cells. This cytokine regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. This cytokine can stimulate the expression of IL6 and cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX-2), as well as enhance the production of nitric oxide (NO). High levels of this cytokine are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis. IL17-A is the founding member of a group of cytokines called the IL-17 family. IL17-A was originally identified as a transcript from a rodent T-cell hybridoma. To elicit its functions, IL17 binds to a type I cell surface receptor called IL17R of which there are at least three variants IL17RA, IL17RB, and IL17RC.

FAQs for IL-17/IL-17A Antibody (NBP1-42746). (Showing 1 - 3 of 3 FAQ).
I want to stain some T cell subsets (Th17 and Th1), do you have antibodies for that? I need for flow cytometer in sheep or goat.
Unfortunately, we have neither a CD4 antibody nor an IL-17 antibody that has been validated in sheep or goat, although if you would like to try one you would again be eligible for our Innovators Reward Program. Please contact us at email@example.com with any questions regarding this program.
I'm looking to establish an ELISA for IL-17 and want your recommendation on which antibody pairs to buy. Least expensive ones, please. Also, I'd like the detection antibody to be fluorescently labeled.
Thank you for your patience while I reviewed our ELISA validated products for IL17. I was not sure what species you were going to be investigating, so I looked up our data for the human protein. If this is incorrect, just let me know and I can look up products for the species you will be working with. As for antibody pairs, we only had one set that have been tested together: Capture: NBP2-22531 Detection: NBP2-22532. The detection product is only available currently with a biotin conjugate. We can however offer custom conjugation for this product to any of our available conjugates. Please see the following link to see the available fluors: http://www.novusbio.com/support/custom-antibody-labeling.html The typical fee for custom conjugation is usually about $80 additional. Once you know which fluor you would like, I can provide you with a quote. We do also offer several ELISA kits for this target (they typically employ HRP or Biotin detection systems, so I am not sure if they will work for your needs).
Are you aware of any possible cross reaction between your 5-HT4R antibody (NBP1-19627) and some other 5-HT receptors, like 5-HT2?
This is a rabbit antibody, so it is IgG. It is directly conjugated to biotin, so this eliminates the need for a secondary antibody.
