This DUOX2 antibody is useful for Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence and Western blot. In Western blot a band is observed at ~150 kDa, and in Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence membrane staining was seen in A431 cells. Use in Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin reported in scientific literature (PMID 24492313)

DUOX2 (dual oxidase 2), a multi-pass membrane protein localized to the apical membrane of epithelial cells, belongs to NADPH oxidase (NOX) family which is known to reduce molecular oxygen with NADPH as electron donor and unlike most of NOX-family members that produce superoxide anions (O2.-) as primary product, DUOX directly produce H2O2. DUOX2 and DUOX 1 require specific maturation factors, DUOXA1 and DUOXA2, to be functionally expressed at the apical follicular membrane, the site for hormonogenesis. DUOX2/DUOX 1 are major components of H2O2-generating system and generate H2O2 which is required for activity of thyroid peroxidase/TPO and lactoperoxidase/LPO. DUOX2 plays a role in thyroid hormones synthesis and LPO-mediated antimicrobial defense mucosal surface. It has its own peroxidase activity through its N-terminal peroxidase-like domain which is inhibited by aminobenzohydrazide and the NADPH oxidase activity is calcium-dependent. DUOX2 is expressed in thyrocytes, intestine, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, prostate, salivary glands, testis etc. and is induced by forskolin, thyrotropin and the Th1-specific cytokine IFNG/IFN-gamma. Defects in DUOX2 have been linked to thyroid dyshormonogenesis 6 (TDH6) characterized by defective conversion of accumulated iodide to organically bound iodine.

FAQs for DUOX2 Antibody (NB110-61576). (Showing 1 - 2 of 2 FAQs).
Hi, I am looking for an antibody to human DUOX2 that will work on human formalin fixed paraffin embedded sections. I notice from your website that you have several recommended for WB and wondered if you have any experience of their use in other areas?
At this time we do not have an antibody for DUOX2 that works in IHC paraffin embedded sections. If you choose to try one in this application we have our Innovator's Reward program where we reward our customers for trying antibodies in previously untested applications and species.
Can you please let me know the homology of the immunogen peptide with mouse, for NB110-61576? Here is a link to the mouse DUOX2 protein information: ncbi
