Western Blot: NMT1 Antibody [NBP2-32168] - Samples: Whole cell lysate (50 ug) from HeLa, 293T, Jurkat, mouse TCMK-1, and mouse NIH3T3 cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-NMT1 antibody NBP2-32168 used for WB at 0.1 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Immunoprecipitation: NMT1 Antibody [NBP2-32168] - Detection of human NMT1 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 to 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-NMT1 antibody NBP2-32168 used for IP at 6 ug per reaction. NMT1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-NMT1 antibody NBP2-32167. For blotting immunoprecipitated NMT1, NBP2-32168 was used at 1 ug/ml. Background

Myristate, a rare 14-carbon saturated fatty acid, is cotranslationally attached by an amide linkage to the N-terminal glycine residue of cellular and viral proteins with diverse functions. N-myristoyltransferase (NMT; EC 2.3.1.97) catalyzes the transfer of myristate from CoA to proteins. N-myristoylation appears to be irreversible and is required for full expression of the biologic activities of several N-myristoylated proteins, including the alpha subunit of the signal-transducing guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein) GO (GNAO1; MIM 139311) (Duronio et al., 1992 (PubMed 1570339)).(supplied by OMIM)
