• Application Notes: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed): 1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10mM Tris with 1mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95C followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
  Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined.

Reactivity Notes

The amino acid sequence used as the immunogen for the TIMP3 antibody is 100% homologous in human, cow, dog and horse, and 94% homologous in mouse and rat. Sheep data from customer review.

Background

TIMPs form tight inhibitory complexes with MMPs, which are involved in matrix degradation and in tumor invasiveness and metastasis. TIMPs inhibit the proteolytic invasiveness of tumor cells and normal placental trophoblast cells.
