Background

FUNCTION: Visual pigments are the light-absorbing molecules that mediate vision. They consist of an apoprotein, opsin, covalently linked to cis-retinal. May increase spectral sensitivity in dim light. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in cone photoreceptor cells.

CommentsThe datasheet said that the antibody would work for western blots and IHC using paraffin sections. Our lab uses both paraffin and frozen sections for IHC, so we tested the antibody on both types of sections. We got comparable results using the antibody for both embedding materials, which is what the image shows.
