The di-methylated K18 on histone H3 is a seemingly transient post-translational modification. H3K18 is better known to be acetylated, and occasionally mono-methylated. Suv39h1, a well-studied histone methyltransferase seems to be responsible for the transition of acetylation and methylation at this H3 modification site. The di-methylated K18 on H3 seems to be associated with embryological development and possibly implantation.

FAQs for Histone H3 Antibody (NB21-1142). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQ).

  1. I have one question about methylated (mono-, di-, tri-) Histone H3 Lys18 antibodies. Has any of them been tested for IHC-P? I see mostly WB ChIP, DB and ICC/IF but no IHC. Would it be possible to get an aliquot for testing?
    • Unfortunately, it does not appear that we have any Histone H3 Lys18 antibodies that have been validated in IHC. If an application is not listed, for a product, it does not mean that it does work in that application, just that it has not been tested. Unfortunately, we cannot give away free samples, but instead, we have the Innovators Reward Program. Our Innovator's Reward program is designed to support your innovative research with minimal financial risk to you. Should you decide to use one of our products in an application or species for which it has not been tested, Novus will provide you a 50% refund on the purchased product as well as a 50% discount on a future product of equal or lesser value. Simply email innovators@novusbio.com to apply for your award. We will send you a form for you to submit a summary of your research and report your experimental results, after which your award will be given.
