Western Blot: GluR1 [p Ser831] Antibody (JE44-96) - AMPA Subtype [NBP3-32767] - Western blot analysis of GluR1 on different lysates with Rabbit anti-GluR1 antibody (NBP3-32767) at 1/1,000 dilution. Lane 1: Mouse brain tissue lysate Lane 2: Human brain tissue lysate Lysates/proteins at 30 ug/Lane. Predicted band size: 102 kDa Observed band size: 110 kDa Exposure time: 1 minute; 4-20% SDS-PAGE gel. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% NFDM/TBST for 1 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (NBP3-32767) at 1/1,000 dilution was used in 5% NFDM/TBST at 4C overnight. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody at 1/50,000 dilution was used for 1 hour at room temperature.

Background

Glutamate Receptor 1 belongs to a family of alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionate (AMPA) receptors. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for Glutamate Receptor 1. Glutamate receptors are the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the mammalian brain and are activated in a variety of normal neurophysiologic processes. These receptors are heteromeric protein complexes with multiple subunits, each possessing transmembrane regions, and all arranged to form a ligand-gated ion channel. The classification of glutamate receptors is based on their activation by different pharmacologic agonists.
