Background

This gene encodes a zinc finger protein involved in DNA excision repair. The encoded protein is part of the NER (nucleotide excision repair) complext which is responsible for repair of UV radiation-induced photoproducts and DNA adducts induced by chemical carcinogens. Mutations in this gene are associated with xeroderma pigmentosum complementation group A. [provided by RefSeq]

FAQs for XPA Antibody (NB100-93321). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQ).

  1. What's the size of protein that your XPA antibody (NB100-93321) detects?
    • Xeroderma pigmentosum group A-complementing protein (XPA) has an expected molecular weight of approximately 31 kD and this protein undergoes post-translational modifications (PTMs) such as phosphorylation as well as ubiquitination that leads to small increase in its observed molecular weight in Western blots. Our XPA antibody (NB100-93321) has been validated in whole cell lysate from HeLa cells, wherein it detected specific single band at 39kDa.
