Background

PDX1 (Pancrease/duodenum homeobox 1, Insulin promoter factor 1, IPF1, Islet/duodenum homeobox 1, IDX1, Somatatostatin transactivating factor 1, STF1, Insulin upstream factor 1, UUF1, Glucose-sensitive factor, GSF) activates transcription of the insulin and somatostain genes.
