Background

PDI antibody detects protein disulphide-isomerase (PDI) from human, rat, porcine and mouse tissues as well as hamster cells. This antibody has been successfully used in Western blot, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemical, flow cytometry, and immunoprecipitation procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects a protein at 59 kDa representing PDI from rat liver extract or a slightly higher protein at 61 kDa representing PDI from human liver extract. Immunohistochemical staining of PDI in rat intestine with this antibody yields a pattern consistent with cytoplasmic staining. In immunoprecipitation procedures This antibody has been shown to inhibit the activity of PDI in vitro. This has also been found to inhibit disulfide bond reduction of the HIV protein, gp120, at the cell surface of CHO cells and human lymphoid cells.

Comments1. A band of protein disulfide isomerase is appeared at 65-kD.

I am very satisfied with the products supplied by NOVUS Biologicals, especially the high quality of many antibodies. In particular, I have been using monoclonal antibodies against protein disulfide isomerase since 2009. These antibodies work extremely well for detection of human protein disulfide isomerase and block its function well. The price of NOVUS Biologicals antibodies is very reasonable in comparison to that of other companies. I strongly recommend NOVUS Biologicals products to my colleagues.

FAQs for PDI Antibody (NB300-517). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQs).

  1. We have recently purchased mouse monoclonal anti-PDI antibody RL90 (cat# NB300-517). From the information available, it appears that this was generated with purified rat PDI serving as immunogen. We would like to know whether there is any information available on the epitope in the PDI molecule recognized by the RL90 antibody? I could not find this information in the description of the antibody.
    • Yes, you are correct: purified rat PDI protein was used as the immunogen for NB300-517, PDI Antibody (RL90). We do not normally epitope map our antibodies, so I think it is unlikely that we know where on the PDI protein this antibody binds. The lab have now confirmed to me that no epitope mapping been carried out for NB300-517, and hence we do not have any additional detail on the binding region of this antibody.
