Background
MIS, also known as anti-Müllarian hormone (AMH), belongs to the TGF-beta
superfamily. It is produced by the fetal testis and plays a central
role in male sex differentiation. Postnatally, MIS is expressed in both
the testis and the ovary, where it also has a regulatory role in
gonadal functions.
