• Immunogen: Chinese hamster ovary cell line CHO-derived recombinant porcine IL‑12 p35/p40 heterodimer
• Specificity: Detects porcine IL-12/IL-23 p40 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In Western blots (under reducing conditions), porcine IL-12/IL-23 p40 will detect the p40 subunit, but not the p35 subunit. In Western blots, less than 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse IL‑12 and recombinant human IL-12 is observed.

Background

IL-12 p70 is a heterodimeric cytokine composed of one 35 kDa and one 40 kDa subunit. The 40 kDa subunit also occurs in IL-23. IL-12 is produced by macrophages and B lymphocytes and has multiple effects on T cells and natural killer (NK) cells.
