Immunoprecipitation:HNF-3 alpha/FoxA1 AntibodyNBP3-29853] -Detection of human FOXA1 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-FOXA1 antibody NBP3-29853 (lot NBP3-29853-1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. FOXA1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-FOXA1 antibody BL20490. For blotting immunoprecipitated FOXA1, NBP3-29853 was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Background

FOXA1 encodes a member of the forkhead class of DNA-binding proteins. These hepatocyte nuclear factors are transcriptional activators for liver-specific transcripts such as albumin and transthyretin, and they also interact with chromatin. Similar family members in mice have roles in the regulation of metabolism and in the differentiation of the pancreas and liver.
