FGF-21 Antibody [Unconjugated]

Western blot shows lysates of mouse spleen tissue and rat spleen tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.25 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Mouse FGF-21 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF3057) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF019). A specific band was detected for FGF-21 at approximately 26 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background

Mouse FGF-21 is a 20 kDa, secreted, nonglycosylated polypeptide that is a member of the FGF family. It is synthesized as a 210 amino acid (aa) precursor that contains a 28 aa signal sequence and a 182 aa mature region. Mature mouse FGF-21 shares 81%, 80%, 79% and 92% aa sequence identity with human, bovine, canine and rat FGF-21, respectively. FGF-21 seems to be produced by the liver and exhibits unique antidiabetogenic effects in fat.
