• Specificity: This antibody is capable of binding human cytokeratin 5 and human cytokeratin 6. Cytokeratins are intermediate filaments found in the intracytoplasmic cytoskeleton of epithelial tissue. Cytokeratin 5 is often expressed in a basal cell layer of normal mammary ducts. Studies have also shown that CK5/6 can be used as a characteristic marker of basal-like breast cancer.
