VGLUT2 Antibody

Western Blot: VGLUT2 Antibody [NBP3-13164] - Various tissue extracts (50 ug) were separated by 7.5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with VGLUT2 antibody (NBP3-13164) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (NBP2-19301) was used to detect the primary antibody.

Sample: DIV9 rat E18 primary cortical neuron cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at RT for 15 min. Green: VGLUT2 stained by VGLUT2 antibody (NBP3-13164) diluted at 1:500. Red: beta Tubulin 3/ Tuj1, stained by beta Tubulin 3/ Tuj1 antibody [GT1338] (NBP3-13505) diluted at 1:500. Blue: Fluoroshield with DAPI.

Background

VGLUT2 is a sodium dependent inorganic phosphate cotransporter that is involved in the calcium dependent glutamate release from astrocytes. It is expressed in only a subset of neurons, localized to synaptic vesicles, at synapses exhibiting classical excitatory features. VGLUT2 mRNA is found in brain regions that lack VGLUT1, a related protein also displaying sodium dependent inorganic phosphate cotransporter activity.
