Flow Cytometry: TACE/ADAM17 Antibody (MM0561-8C13) [NBP2-12018] - Analysis of the AF647 conjugate of this antibody. A cell surface stain was performed on THP-1 cells with TACE/ADAM17 antibody NBP2-12018AF647 (blue) along with a matched isotype control NBP2-27287AF647 (orange). Cells were incubated in an antibody dilution of 2 ug/mL for 20 minutes at RT.

Background

ADAM17 encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of biologic processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. The protein encoded by this gene functions as a tumor necrosis factor-alpha converting enzyme; binds mitotic arrest deficient 2 protein; and also plays a prominent role in the activation of the Notch signaling pathway.
