Western Blot: ID2 Antibody [NBP2-27194] - Analysis using ID2 antibody. Lysate from human brain in the 1) absence and 2) presence of immunizing peptide, 3) mouse and 4) rat brain probed with ID2 antibody at 2 ug/ml. Goat anti-rabbit Ig HRP secondary antibody and PicoTect ECL substrate solution were used for this test.

Background

ID2 protein belongs to the inhibitor of DNA binding (ID) family, members of which are transcriptional regulators that contain a helix-loop-helix (HLH) domain but not a basic domain. ID (inhibitor of DNA binding) HLH proteins lack a basic DNA-binding domain but are able to form heterodimers with other HLH proteins, thereby inhibiting DNA bindingThis protein may play a role in negatively regulating cell differentiation. ID2 may be an inhibitor of tissue-specific gene expression. Expression of ID2 is high in early fetal tissues, including those of the central nervous system.
