Western Blot: GRAIL/RNF128 Antibody [NBP2-24610] - Bone marrow progenitors were isolated from C57BL/6 mice and incubated with 20ng/ml GM-CSF. (a) Cells were collected at days 0-9. A portion of the cells at day 8 were stimulated with OVA for 24h. Collected cells were processed for protein extraction followed by immunoblot analysis with antibodies to the indicated proteins. Blots were stripped of antibodies prior to probing with the next one. The two braces on the left represent two different gels of the same samples. Signals were quantified and are shown as values under the respective blots. Background

The protein encoded by the RNF128 gene is a type I transmembrane protein that localizes to the endocytic pathway. This protein contains a RING zinc-finger motif and has been shown to possess E3 ubiquitin ligase activity. Expression of this gene in retrovirally transduced T cell hybridoma significantly inhibits activation-induced IL2 and IL4 cytokine production. Induced expression of this gene was observed in anergic CD4(+) T cells, which suggested a role in the induction of anergic phenotype. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq]
