Western Blot: EDC4 Antibody [NB100-2273] - Detection of mouse RCD8 by western blot. Samples: Whole cell lysate (50 ug) from NIH 3T3 and TCMK-1 cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibody: Affinity purified rabbit anti-RCD8 antibody NB100-2273 used for WB at 0.1 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Immunoprecipitation: EDC4 Antibody [NB100-2273] - Detection of human RCD8 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-RCD8 antibody NB100-2273 (lot NB100-2273-2) used for IP at 6 ug per reaction. RCD8 was also immunoprecipitated by a previous lot of this antibody (lot NB100-2273-1). For blotting immunoprecipitated RCD8, A300-745A was used at 0.2 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Background

In the process of mRNA degradation, seems to play a role in mRNA decapping. Component of a complex containing DCP2 and DCP1A which functions in decapping of ARE-containing mRNAs. Promotes complex formation between DCP1A and DCP2. Enhances the catalytic activity of DCP2 (in vitro)
