Recombinant Mouse CCL17/TARC Protein Summary

Description
A single, non-glycosylated biologically active polypeptide chain corresponding to 70 residues of CCL17.

Source: E. coli

Amino Acid Sequence: ARATNVGREC CLDYFKGAIP IRKLVSWYKT SVECSRDAIV FLTVQGKLIC ADPKDKHVKK AIRLVKNPRP

Preparation
Method
Novus' biologically active proteins are stringently purified to provide only the safest and most highly effective proteins available. This protein was expressed in E. coli, purified by HPLC, QC tested by SDS-PAGE and Western Blot and validated on appropriate cell lines for bioactivity. All HPLC and bioactivity data is provided for your assurance.
Details of Functionality
TARC Protein is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The biologically active determined by a chemotaxis bioassay using human T-lymphocytes is in a concentration range of 1.0-10 ng/ml.

Notes

This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-8 degrees C, but should be kept at -20 degrees C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is most stable at -20 to -80 degrees C, and can be stored for one week at 2-8 degrees C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20 degrees C to -80 degrees C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Background

Murine CCL17 also known as TARC, Small-inducible cytokine A17, Thymus and activation-regulated chemokine and SCYA17, is encoded by the CCL17 gene located on the chromosome 8. Among CC chemokine family members, CCL17 has approximately 24 - 29 % amino acid sequence identity with RANTES, MIP-1 alpha, MIP-1 beta, MCP-1, MCP-2, MCP-3 and I-309. CCL17 is a secreted protein and expressed by thymus cells constitutively and phytohemagglutinin-stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells transiently. It signals through the chemokine receptors CCR4 and CCR8 and displays chemotactic activity for T lymphocytes and some other leukocytes. CCL17 play an important role in skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, bullous pemphigoid and mycosis fungoides. Recombinant CCL17 has been shown to be chemotactic for T cell lines but not monocytes or neutrophils.
