Novus Biologicals announced today a new JMJD6 antibody (catalog number NBP1-71693) for use in research on epigenetics research on histone modification and angiogenesis. This JMJD6 antibody was made using SDIX Genomic Antibody TechnologyTM.
Jumonji domain containing 6 (JMJD6) is a histone demethylating enzyme, active on arginine residues but not lysines, which destabilizes heterochromatin structures and activates gene expressions in euchromatin. In endothelial cells, the JMJD6 activity is necessary for angiogenesis. JMJD6 is also a protein hydroxylase, which acts on RNA splicing factors and is important in embryonic differentiation. It is thought to specifically interact with single-stranded RNA, which would contribute to its importance for early differentiation.
Novus' new JMJD6 Antibody (NBP1-71693) has been thoroughly validated for use in Western blot and immunocytochemistry on human, mouse, rat, Xenopus, bovine, and zebra fish samples. This antibody will therefore serve as an important tool for epigenetics research and angiogenesis regulation studies.
SDIX Genomic Antibody Technology™ uses sophisticated bioinformatics and immunization strategies to produce high-quality antibodies that specifically bind to a targeted region of protein in its naturally folded form. The ability of any antibody to recognize a protein’s naturally folded state has the potential to expand an antibody’s utility to high-value applications like sandwich immunoassay, ChIP and flow cytometry.
