Background

SCGF, also named CLEC11a, is a 47 kDa, 328 amino acid, secreted glycoprotein member of the C-type lectin superfamily. Produced by CD33⁺ stem cells and resting chondrocytes, SCGF acts in combination with other factors to promote erythroid, myeloid and endothelial cell production. Over the region used as immunogen, mouse SCGF is 92% and 83% aa identical to the corresponding rat and human protein sequences, respectively.
