Background

Protein tyrosine phosphatase beta/zeta (PTP beta / zeta ), also known as PTPRZ, is a member of the receptor-type protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. This phosphatase is involved in the regulation of specific developmental processes in the central nervous system. A protein of 2,307 amino acids, PTPRZ is membrane-spanning with two cytoplasmic protein tyrosine phosphatase domains and an extracellular domain.

Strong band at about 50 kDa corresponds to the major isotype of the GFAP protein. Smaller isotypes and proteolytic fragments of GFAP are also detected on the blot.
Western Blot: GFAP Antibody [NB300-141] - Analysis of Rat brain lysate. Antibody at 1:5000. Specific band running with an apparent SDS-PAGE molecular weight of ~50 kDa corresponds to rodent GFAP was observed.
