Western Blot: Nestin Antibody [NB300-265] - Detection of nestin protein in human fetal temporal lobe tissue lysates (30 ug). Lane 1: 0.5 ug/ml NB 300-265: lane 2: 2 ug/ml NB 300-265. ECL: 1 second exposure.

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: Nestin Antibody [NB300-265] - The Nestin antibody was tested in NTERA2 cells against Dylight 488 (Green). Alpha-tubulin and nuclei were counterstained against Dylight 550 (Red) and DAPI (Blue), respectively.

Nestin was detected in immersion fixed SJCRH30 human Rhabdomyosarcoma cell line using Rabbit anti-Nestin Antigen Affinity Purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # NB300-265) at 2.0 µg/mL overnight at 4C. Cells were stained using DyLight 488-conjugated Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) Cross-Absorbed Secondary Antibody (green), and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Cells were imaged using a 100X objective and digitally deconvolved.

Background

Nestin is a Class VI intermediate filament expressed in the developing central nervous system (CNS) in early embryonic neuroepithelial stem cells. This protein has been widely used as a predominant marker for stem / progenitor cells, glioma cells, and tumor endothelial cells. Furthermore, it is a superior angiogenic marker to evaluate neovascularity of endothelial cells in tumor.
