Mre11 Antibody

Western blot shows lysates of HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line and K562 human chronic myelogenous leukemia cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Human Mre11 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF2284) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Chicken IgY Secondary Antibody. A specific band was detected for Mre11 at approximately 100 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background

The Mre11 protein exhibits both exo- and endonuclease activities and is a component of the Mre11/Rad50/Nbs1 (MRN) complex. The MRN complex binds chromatin in regions of DNA double-strand breaks (DSB) during the normal cell cycle and in response to genotoxic stress, and is involved in control of DSB repair during homologous recombination.
