KCC2/SLC12A5 Antibody (905705)

Western blot shows lysates of human brain stem tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human KCC2/SLC12A5 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB8369) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). A specific band was detected for KCC2/SLC12A5 at approximately 150 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with human KCC2/SLC12A5 and eGFP was stained with either (A) Mouse Anti-Human KCC2/SLC12A5 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB8369) or (B) Mouse IgG1 Isotype Control (Catalog # MAB002) followed by Allophycocyanin-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # F0101B).

Background

Solute Carrier, family 12 (potassium/chloride transporter), member 5 (SLC12A5) encodes KCC2, a multi-pass co-transporter for K⁺ and Cl^-.  KCC2/SLC12A5 is expressed on neurons, and is dysregulated in schizophrenia, spasticity, and affective disorders.
