Background

IMPA1 (inositol monophosphatase) is responsible for the provision of inositol required for synthesis of phosphatidylinositol and polyphosphoinositides. The blockade of inositol monophosphatase hydrolysis may underlie the anti-manic and anti-depressant actions of Li(+).
