Background

Glucagon, a pancreatic hormone, functions as an antagonist to insulin, stimulating the conversion of glycogen to glucose and increasing blood sugar levels. GLP-1 functions as a transmitter in the central nervous system, inhibiting feeding and drinking behavior.
