FGF-6 Antibody [DyLight 755] Summary
Immunogen |
E. coli-derived recombinant human FGF-6 Gly41-Ile208 Accession # P10767 |
Specificity |
Detects human FGF-6 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In Western blots, approximately 50% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) FGF-4 is observed, less than 5% cross-reactivity with rhFGF-9 is observed, and less than 2% cross-reactivity with FGF-acidic, rhFGF-5, and rhFGF-7 is observed. In direct ELISAs, less than 1% cross-reactivity with rh beta -ECGF, recombinant mouse (rm) FGF-8b, and rmFGF-8c is observed. |

Background
The protein encoded by the FGF6 gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possessbroad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, includingembryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This gene displayedoncogenic transforming activity when transfected into mammalian cells. The mouse homolog of this gene exhibits arestricted expression profile predominantly in the myogenic lineage, which suggested a role in muscle regeneration ordifferentiation. (provided by RefSeq)
