Phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding the phosphoThr202 and Tyr204 of rat ERK/MAPK.
p Thr202, p Tyr204
Specific for the ~42k - 44k ERK/MAPK phosphorylated at Thr202 and Tyr204. Immunolabeling is blocked by the phosphopeptide used as antigen but not by the corresponding dephosphopeptide. The immunolabeling is completely eliminated by lambda-phosphatase.
Alternate Names for ERK1 [p Thr202, p Tyr204] Antibody
Extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1
extracellular signal-related kinase 1
Insulin-stimulated MAP2 kinase
MAP kinase 1
MAP kinase 3
MAP kinase isoform p44
Microtubule-associated protein 2 kinase
Mitogen-activated protein kinase 1
mitogen-activated protein kinase 3
The activation of signal transduction pathways by growth factors, hormones and neurotransmitters is mediated through two closely related MAP kinases (p44 and p42), designated ERK 1 (extracellular-signal related kinase 1) and ERK 2, respectively. ERK proteins are regulated by dual phosphorylation at specific tyrosine and threonine sites, which is required for full enzymatic activation. Once activated, MAP kinases phosphorylate downstream components on serine and threonine. Upstream MAP kinase regulators include MEK and Raf-1.
