DPEP1 Antibody [CoraFluor™ 1] Summary

• Description: CoraFluor(TM) 1 is a high performance terbium-based TR-FRET (Time-Resolved Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) or TRF (Time-Resolved Fluorescence) donor for high throughput assay development. CoraFluor(IM) 1 absorbs UV light at approximately 340 nm, and emits at approximately 490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 620 nm. It is compatible with common acceptor dyes that absorb at the emission wavelengths of CoraFluor(TM) 1. CoraFluor(TM) 1 can be used for the development of robust and scalable TR-FRET binding assays such as target engagement, ternary complex, protein-protein interaction and protein quantification assays.

Background

DPEP1 (EC 3.4.13.11) is a kidney membrane enzyme that hydrolyzes a variety of dipeptides and is implicated in renalmetabolism of glutathione and its conjugates, e.g., leukotriene D4 (Kozak and Tate, 1982 (PubMed 6122685)). DPEP1 isresponsible for hydrolysis of the beta-lactam ring of antibiotics, such as penem and carbapenem (Campbell et al., 1984(PubMed 6334084)). Earlier, beta-lactamase enzymes were thought to occur only in bacteria, where their probablefunction was in protecting the organisms against the action of beta-lactam antibiotics. These antibiotics exhibitselective toxicity against bacteria but virtual inertness against many eukaryotic cells (Adachi et al., 1990 (PubMed2303490)).(supplied by OMIM)
