CD2, also known as leukocyte function-associated antigen-2 (LFA-2), is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell adhesion molecules. It is expressed on the surface of >95% of thymocytes, and essentially all B cells, T cells and NK cells. In the mouse, CD2 is the receptor for CD48. CD2 is thought to play a major role in mediating T-cell adhesion, T-cell recognition/activation, T-cell signaling, and intrathymic differentiation.

Does this antibody cross react with the FC receptor?
The answer to your question is likely to be "NO", this antibody should not be cross reactive with the mouse FC receptors, based on the following reasons: 1) Since we do not map the epitopes of our antibodies and the immunogen sequence of this antibody is the proprietary information, I think it is safe to say that the extracellular domain (a.a. 32 - 302 on Uniprot) of the mouse CD2 protein contains the epitope, where NBP1-26666 interacts with. Based on this assumption, I have done an a.a. sequence comparison. 2) There are several different types of Fc receptors (FcR) and the major ones are those binding to IgG, which are called Fc-gamma receptors (Fc gamma R). Fc gamma R belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and includes several members, Fc gamma RI (CD64), Fc gamma RIIA (CD32), Fc gamma RIIB (CD32), etc., which differ in their antibody affinities due to their different molecular structure. Therefore the a.a. sequences derived from mouse CD64 and CD32 were compared with the sequence of mouse CD2 at the a.a. 32 - 302.
