Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) takes part in B-cell ontogeny, differentiation, and signaling. A kinase member of the Tec family, it's signaling leads to cytoskeletal changes, as well as calcium, NF kappa B, and NFAT signaling. Defects in the gene cause X-linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA). Autophosphorylation can occur on Tyr-223 and Tyr-551. pY223 activates the protein that is inhibited by IBTK, and creates a docking site for SH2 domain proteins.

CD79b - A Signal Transduction Component of the B-cell Receptor The B-cell antigen receptor (BCR) is a complex multimeric aggregate that includes the following key noncovalently-bound components: antigen-specific surface immunoglobulin (Ig), CD79a (Ig-alpha), and CD79b (Ig-beta). BCR signaling is a pivotal pathway... Read full blog post.
