PAZ Piwi domain protein
This gene encodes a member of the Argonaute family of proteins which play a role in RNA interference. The encoded protein is highly basic, and contains a PAZ domain and a PIWI domain. It may interact with dicer1 and play a role in short-interfering-RNA-mediated gene silencing. [provided by RefSeq]

SuperSignal West Dura Extended Duration Substrate (Thermo, ref# 34075) for developing blot; ECL film and developer
There was good recognition of the recombinant protein (previous antibody NB100-56198 did not detect it) for 10ng of loaded protein; 50ng of loaded protein showed more non-specific signal, especially at higher molecular wight than the expected size of 64kDa.The antibody was also tested in 4 different samples (1.25 x 10^9 exosomes/lane) showing a clean protein profile. At this point, it is unclear if the protein detected >50kDa is a non-specific band or a related protein of lower molecular weight.
