Background

ZUD is cytoplasmic protein with a ZU5 and death domain. It interacts with the NF-?B subunit p105 and transactivator p65 and inhibits NF-?B -dependent transcription when its overexpressed. ZUD seems to be a inhibitor of NF-?B signalling, and enhance cell death to apoptotic stimuli like TNF and TRAIL.
