Background

S100P is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and they are involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100P, in addition to binding Ca2+, also binds Zn2+ and Mg2+. It may play a role in the etiology of prostate cancer (1).

1. I am interested in your S100P antibody EPR6142. I would like to know if you have tested this antibody against cross-reactivity with S100A1 and S100B? Do you also know whether the antigen peptide contained the sequence which is unique to S100P?
   • This antibody has not been tested for its cross reactivity against other family members. However, the immunogen for NBP1-95904 Anti-S100P, has 56% sequence similarity with S100A1, and 33% with S100B. Therefore, it is unlikely that the antibody will cross react with either of these proteins.
