Background

The PDGFR signaling pathway may play an important role in cell proliferation, cell migration, and angiogenesis. PDGFR signaling pathways have been implicated in the development and growth of solid tumors. Blockade of PDGFR receptors has been shown to inhibit angiogenesis, tumor vascular maturation and maintenance, and tumor cell proliferation, leading to tumor regression. PDGFR consists of two subunits; alpha and beta. These can combine to form homo or heterodimers.
