Background

The precise function of this gene is unknown; however, the encoded protein is a component of a multiprotein E3 ubiquitin ligase complex that mediates the targeting of substrate proteins for proteasomal degradation. Mutations in this gene are known to cause Parkinson disease and autosomal recessive juvenile Parkinson disease. Alternative splicing of this gene produces multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. Additional splice variants of this gene have been described but currently lack transcript support. FAQs for Parkin Recombinant Protein (H00005071-P01). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQs).

  1. I am interested in recombinant parkin protein (H00005071-P01) to show the direct physical interaction of parkin and an another protein by immunoprecipitation method. In the datasheet it is written that the recombinant parkin protein is not active. What kind of assays was done to show parkin is not active? Do you think that can I use this recombinant protein for immunoprecipitation?
    • We have had feedback from customers that suggest that this protein is not active. We therefore do not recommend the use of this product in IP.
