NPM1 Antibody [CoraFluor™ 1] Summary

• Description: CoraFluor(TM) 1 is a high performance terbium-based TR-FRET (Time-Resolved Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) or TRF (Time-Resolved Fluorescence) donor for high throughput assay development. CoraFluor(IM) 1 absorbs UV light at approximately 340 nm, and emits at approximately 490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 620 nm. It is compatible with common acceptor dyes that absorb at the emission wavelengths of CoraFluor(TM) 1. CoraFluor(TM) 1 can be used for the development of robust and scalable TR-FRET binding assays such as target engagement, ternary complex, protein-protein interaction and protein quantification assays.
• Immunogen: A synthetic peptide made to a C-terminal region of human mutant Nucleophosmin (within residues 250-294). [Accession# AAW67752]
• Localization: Nucleophosmin typically resides in the nucleus. However, in patients with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) it mutates and localizes to the cytoplasm.
• Specificity: This antibody is specific for the mutant form of Nucleophosmin.

Background

Nucleophosmin (NPM) is a multi-functional protein that is involved in many cellular activities including cell growth, proliferation and transformation. It is frequently overexpressed in solid tumors, and has recently been found to be mutated and aberrantly localized in the cytoplasm of leukaemic blasts in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

NMP antibodies are useful tools as tumor markers in cancer research.
