LMTK2 (lemur tyrosine kinase 2), also known as KPI-2 (kinase/phosphatase inhibitor 2), cprk (cdk5-regulated kinase) or Brek (brain-enriched kinase), is a 210 kDa type I transmembrane ser/thr kinase that is a member of the lemur family of kinases with long (lemur-like) C-terminal cytoplasmic tails. It is expressed mainly in the brain and is enriched in perinatal neurons, but is also found in germ cells. Amino acids (aa) 93‑284 of human LMTK2 share 93% and 92% aa identity with mouse and rat LMTK2, respectively.
