Western Blot: Jagged 1 Antibody (JF96-06) [NBP2-66912] - Western blot analysis of Jagged 1 on A431 cell lysate. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% BSA in PBS for 1 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (1/1,000) was used in 5% BSA at room temperature for 2 hours. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody (HA1001) at 1:200,000 dilution was used for 1 hour at room temperature.

Background

The jagged 1 protein encoded by JAG1 is the human homolog of the Drosophilia jagged protein. Human jagged 1 is theligand for the receptor notch 1, the latter a human homolog of the Drosophilia jagged receptor notch. Mutations thatalter the jagged 1 protein cause Alagille syndrome. Jagged 1 signalling through notch 1 has also been shown to play arole in hematopoiesis. (provided by RefSeq)
