Alternate Names for Recombinant Human FGF-BP Protein
Background
FGFBP1, also known as Fibroblast growth factor-binding protein 1, is a 234 amino acid protein that is approximately 26 kDa, acts as a carrier protein that release fibroblast-binding factors (FGFs) enhancing its mitogenic activity and can be found secreted, in extracellular space and cell membrane. This protein is currently being studied for research on the following diseases and disorders: squamous cell carcinoma, breast cancer, colon cancer, pancreatitis, hypertension, narcolepsy, ataxia, prostatitis, and peritonitis. FGFBP1 has also been shown to have interactions with FGF2, FIBP, NRP2, UBQLN4 and HSPG2 in pathways such as the positive regulation of fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling pathway, positive and negative regulation of cell proliferation, cell-cell signaling and signal transduction.
Limitations
