I am looking for an antibody that reacts specifically with eIF4A2 (and not eIF4A1, which is extremely similar) and that works in IP. You sell an antibody (NBP1-57490) but based on the information provided I am not able to decide if the antibody meets my requirements. Do you know if it does? If not I do have overexpression plasmids for tagged eIF4A1 and eIF4A2 that would allow me to test it for you if you could provide with a little of the antibody.
The immunogens for NBP2-24612 and NBP1-57490 share under 75% similarity with eIF4A2 and are not predicted to cross-react. They have shown no cross-reactivity in testing and should suit your needs.
How has the cross-reactivity been tested? Do the antibodies work in IP?
The immunogens are carefully chosen to minimize the chance of cross-reactivity with other proteins. None of our testing or customer feedback has suggested that either NBP2-24612 or NBP1-57490 cross-react. NBP2-24612 has been validated in Western blot and in IHC on paraffin-embedded tissues. NBP1-57490 has been validated in Western blot only. They have never been tested for use in IP. If you wanted to chose one to try to use in IP, I would recommend NBP2-24612, as it works in IHC-P as well, so it is known to recognize the protein in its native form.
