Background

discoidin domain receptor tyrosine kinase 1. Receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) play a key role in the communication of cells with their microenvironment. These molecules are involved in the regulation of cell growth, differentiation and metabolism. The protein encoded by this gene is a RTK that is widely expressed in normal and transformed epithelial cells and is activated by various types of collagen. This protein belongs to a subfamily of tyrosine kinase receptors with a homology region to the Dictyostelium discoideum protein discoidin I in their extracellular domain. Its autophosphorylation is achieved by all collagens so far tested (type I to type VI). In situ studies and Northern-blot analysis showed that expression of this encoded protein is restricted to epithelial cells, particularly in the kidney, lung, gastrointestinal tract, and brain. In addition, this protein is significantly over-expressed in several human tumors from breast, ovarian, esophageal, and pediatric brain. This gene is located on chromosome 6p21.3 in proximity to several HLA class I genes. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.

FAQs for DDR1 Antibody (NBP1-28861). (Showing 1 - 3 of 3 FAQ).

  1. I was wondering if you offer, or are planning on offering, any antibodies targeted to specific phosphorylation sites on the receptor tyrosine kinase DDR1.
    • At this time we do not offer and DDR1 antibodies specific for certain phosphorylation states.
  2. Please inform us the positive control of this item NBP1-28861.
    • Positive Controls: Normal - brain, lung, testes or kidney. Cancerous – colon, testes, bladder
  3. Can you please confirm how many slides I can test for IHC-P?
    • Tests: Its dilution for IHC-P is 1:200, so it will be good for about 125-150 slides if you use 150ul of diluted antibody/slide.

Our genome experiences a moderate amount of DNA damage in our cells on a daily basis.  This DNA damage can be in response to external environmental factors, or be a result of our internal metabolic processes going awry.  While normal rates of DNA ...  Read full blog post.
