Background

LMIR6, also known as immune receptor expressed by myeloid cell 2 (IREM-2) and CD300 antigen-like family member E (CD300e), is a type I transmembrane protein that has an extracellular domain containing an Ig-like domain and a transmembrane domain with a positive charge. It is predicted to be an activating receptor that associates with ITAM motif-containing adaptor proteins. LMIR6/IREM-2 is expressed on mature hematopoietic cells of the monocytic and myeloid dendritic cell lineages.
