In direct ELISAs, approximately 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse CCL2 is observed and no cross-reactivity with recombinant human CCL1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, recombinant mouse CCL1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, or recombinant rat CCL20 is observed.

Background

CCL2, also known as JE or MCP-1 (monocyte chemoattractant protein-1), is a CC chemokine produced by fibroblasts, macrophages, astrocytes, mast cells, endothelial cells and osteoblasts. It functions as a chemoattractant through ligations with CCR2 on monocytes, macrophages and lymphocytes.
