This Alkaline Phosphatase, Placental Antibody (8B6) is useful for Immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded sections and frozen sections, Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western blot and Radioimmunodiffusion. In WB a band can be seen at ~70 kDa. For IHC, Proteolytic Induced Epitope Retrieval (PIER) is required. Use in Flow Cytometry reported in various pieces of scientific literature The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.

Alkaline Phosphatase, Placental, also known as PLAP and ALPP is an alkaline phosphatase located on the second chromosome. Alkaline phosphatases are phosphodiesterases. The placental-specific isozyme of Alkaline Phosphatase is found in trophoblast cells of normal human mature placenta, seminomas of testis and ovarian carcinomas. The detection of alkaline phosphatase in serum is a marker for ovarian and testicular cancer (PMID: 21809268).

FAQs for Alkaline Phosphatase/ALPP Antibody (NB110-3638). (Showing 1 - 2 of 2 FAQs).
I am looking to use a placental alkaline phosphatase antibody for sorting syncytiotrophoblast material from female tissue. It looks like most people who use these antibodies use in-house versions and references for commercially available antibodies I've found are from the '80's. I noticed you have several different monoclonal antibodies and was hoping you could give me a little more information on them and potential applications they've been tested for. Also, do you have a biotinylated or fluorophore-conjugated version?
None of our placental alkaline phosphatase antibodies are biotinylated or fluorchrome conjugated but we offer a number of kits for this application and our lab can do a custom conjugation as well, for an additional fee. NB600-750 is useful in FACS with human cells, so I would recommend this antibody for your experiment. We back the use of this antibody as stated on the datasheet with the 100% Novus Guarantee. If you have questions about another antibody, I will be happy to answer them.
Our customer asked us to submit the inquiry to confirm if it is true that catalog # NB110-3638 has not been tested for WB. The customer seems to believe NB110-3638 shall be able to be used for WB.
NB110-3638 has not been tested in Western blot and we cannot guarantee that application. Please advise your customer that the applications listed on the datasheet are the ones we have tested and will guarantee.
